Hannah Miller Qualifies for American XC Champs

Quoting from the SMU (Hannah’s University in Dallas, Texas) athletics webpage:“Freshman Hannah Miller has qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championship after a fourth-place finish at the NCAA South Central Regional Friday. Miller was one of 36 individual qualifiers and is set to compete at the national meet Saturday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. CT in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Invercargill, New Zealand, native will be the first SMU representative at the NCAA Championship since senior Agnes Sjostrom competed in the meet in 2014. Miller was team's top finisher for the fourth-consecutive meet at regionals with a time of 20 minutes, 26.3 seconds. She was named to the
South Central All-Region team and was the top freshman in the field of 144 runners.”

Cathy Casey, Hannah’s coach at SMU, told Lance, her previous coach back here, “It is a real achievement to
qualify for the NCAA Championships especially as a freshman. She has worked so hard this season and I
really feel she can run with anyone out there. She just has to do what she has done all season and she
will be right up there. But at nationals it is all about remaining calm and executing.”
